Summary

The Avans brand recently underwent a brand refresh, which had barely been reflected online. The existing website looked outdated and no longer met modern technical standards. With an upcoming migration, Avans hired me to seize this opportunity to fully redesign the website, implement the new brand identity, and significantly improve the digital experience.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Challenge

The challenge lay in identifying the current pain points on the website, translating the brand refresh into a digital product like the website, and ultimately improving the overall experience significantly. Resources were limited, so within the agile process we had to prioritise which changes would have the greatest impact.

Solution

The result is a fully redesigned Avans website that stays true to the organization and its students. By addressing user pain points across key journeys and validating improvements through user testing, the new design demonstrably delivers a better experience. The refreshed brand identity is now consistently reflected online, and a design system was established to ensure visual consistency and scalability going forward.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​
